My Caurse Reflection

In this course, I learned the History of photography, have knowledge about the type of cameras, and how it were invented. Personally I was interested in the photography, so it was an interesting course to me. What I liked most, doing the projects that helps me in insight looking and have a good knowing how to photograph from different triangles. However, I didn’t like the teaching materiel which is the book; it was a lot of information and details. Its can improve by highlighting the main things that help the student to memorize and study it.

Heritage Tours

The Heritage Tours in AlFahidi Historic District; it is traditional Emirati neighbourhood and one of the oldest places in Bur Dubai. The tour is a walk through the unique narrow sikkas (path) and the beautiful wind towers adorn the original houses along the Dubai Creek. (Heritage Tours )

The tour explains how the houses were built and how the neighborhoods were back days in UAE. Some of the visitors asked about the wind tower, as it shows In the photo each house has one wind tower or more, back days you can tell how wealth are the family from how many wind towers in their house.

The wind tower in old days was very famous, it was nowadays air conditioner. Wind tower  is an architectural advice, to create the natural airing in buildings or houses. The tower catch the cooler wind that come at the higher level above the ground and direct it inside the building or house (Wind Towers Catch the Breezes (Mid East).

Why men wear white and women black?

This question has asked every day, people want to know why the Emirates wear these colours.

Before the oil discover, the main part of the UAE’s economy was pearling. Then the Japanese pearl farming came so the UAE suffer from this decline, the Japanese send us the white fabric as compensation. So the men started to wear them, and it’s become our traditions. However, women didn’t like the white, as you can see underneath the white colour, and as known women don’t like to wear the same dress and colour daily!! In fact, black came from the Alshee’a, as they wear it once a year for grieving Prophet Mohammad grandson. From here it become a fashion, as the black is light and covering without shows what underneath it.

Why a woman covers her hair? Most of the guest thinks that the hair is attracting men!! Do you ever read that a guy jumped on a girl because she has a beautiful hair!

image

Looking to the religion side, as women we care about our hair a lot, and how it looks. So to reduce the competition when we go to the worship, and no one feels like she’s less or more, equal, covering everything except the face and hand. Poor or rich, it cannot show in his worship house.

The questions that the guests asking about why some women covering their faces! These are the women choices if they want it or not, nobody can force them to do that.

An Emirate invention for women called Burqa, Back days it was the women sunglasses, and beauty protection. It protects the skin from the sunlight and burn.

Until now some older women wear the Burqa, the young generation wearing high brand sunglasses now!!
